Strauss Cat Cage

This Cat enclosure is very well made.When I opened the box I was surprised at all the many pieces.I wanted to quit before I started assembling it.But its really pretty easy.I highly recommend setting out all the wire cage pieces and identifying them.Stick a Post- it note on them,it helps.All the hardware is also daunting, but once again, separate,identify,try snapping a few pieces on to practice first,and you are good to go.The Instructions are easy to follow,just pay attention that you have the wire sections the correct way up,and there are handy tips in the Instructions. It took me about 30 minutes to assemble after a few false starts.Give yourself time,do not rush.The plastic fasteners look odd, but after a few tries I learned how they twist and secure the sections. The 2 shelves are plenty big for a Cat,my Cat is about 12 pounds.The padded covers tie on,and are well made.The wire ramps are not exactly what a Cat would could walk on.Mine did not, so I took them out.The hammock is sturdy enough for a 40 pound Cat,it seems,with clips to hang it anywhere you choose.It is a bit awkward for a large Cat to try to get on.MyCats will not use it, but a young Cat probably would enjoy the challenge.I clipped it flat on the top as a Sun shield.The bottom plastic Tray clips on easily and is sturdy,but there is NO WIRE on the bottom, so if the clips came off, your Cat could just get out of the open bottom! I secured ALL sections with purchased Zip- Ties! I use my Cat Enclosure outside.I secured it to my window side of my house with more Zip- Ties.The Cats are loving it.It is quite a far jump to the bottom of the Cage,and they seem to not want to land on the bottom shelf.The plastic pan has water in it after it rains,so thats a bummer.Wish it had holes in it to drain.This Cat Enclosure would be best if it were supported against something, I think,if you have several large Cats using it at once.I am happy with my purchase,as it is well made and pretty sturdy.

It is tall with 3 different level. It is just wide enough to fit under our gazebo.We love it. Our kitty loves to sit in it and watch the birds and squirrels.We are going to cover the ladders with a scratch cloth because she is scared of the openings in them. We love it

It took awhile to put together, but our cat loves it.She went to bed in it last night on the bottom floor and was on the top shelf when we woke up this morning.She spent most of today on the middle shelf, wandering in and out freely.

I bought this for my ferrets and didn’t think much of it. They slipped out immediately. I had to reinforce with zip ties and chicken wire that I cut the ends off to make sure they were sharp and I lined it with a blanket. 10/10 would buy again. The price was good and my ferrets had a hay day escaping and playing for the last 3 days. Now they love the space and have fun. I lined the stairs with a blanket too so they climb. They love it, thank you Wayfair 🙂 <3
