East Coast butter-buyers, if you are OCD about having a certain amount of space around your butter with the lid on, then you may want to consider buying a different dish. Little known fact: Butter on both US coasts is sized somewhat differently. West coast butter is more square and squat, whereas east coast butter is longer and thinner, somewhat like a hot dog. Both styles of butter will still fit inside, but the edges of East Coast butter may end up precariously close to the edge of the lid when you place in a fresh stick. I don’t know if that sort of thing bothers you, but it certainly did bother my mother so I’m adding it here for transparency purposes.

The perfect little butter dish! Nice modern design in stainless steel. Lid lines up nicely with base. Looks great on the table.

It’s okay, I was thinking it would be bigger. Also there isn’t a glass dish inside to put butter on.

Light, durable, attractive. The glass butter dishes fall and break. Stainless steel is much better.
