The metal support arms for the post are a great benefit due to that they are shorter than the ones furnished with the umbrella taking up less deck space.The plastic weight containers work perfect with water installed for weight.The off set umbrella is well supported.

This stand should work just fine for a heavy umbrella. NOTE Check the diameter measurements if you are placing this under the table. We had to saw off metal from our table
to get it to fit.
