Description
The Jora JK125 Composter simplifies and speeds up the process of making compost. It is a ‘continuous-use’ dual chamber composter. Dual chambers allow you to keep adding new materials to one compartment while the other matures. Because the unit is insulated and sealed, it converts kitchen waste to compost in 2-8 weeks. With a capacity of 4.5 cubic feet (33 gallons), the Jora Composter can easily handle daily composting of kitchen scraps for a household of 1-4 or in some cases more.
The Jora Composter will accept organic kitchen | and household waste or anything biodegradable, including citrus, meat, and bones. After adding waste, it will take about 6 to 8 weeks for each chamber to produce compost. Once both chambers are in operation you should be emptying one chamber every 3 to 4 weeks. Composting generates heat and the different microorganisms start working at different temperatures. The HDPE insulation in the composter allows the temperature to rise to 150° F for faster, more efficient processing of your organic waste. At these temperatures, fresh waste starts to break down before it has a chance to rot and attract vermin and flies. With its superior insulation, the Jora composter will continue working through winter, long after other composters have stopped completely.

So far, this composter is great! We’re working on our first batch of compost and it is coming along nicely. The chamber got very hot within a couple of days, and even when we added a big batch of grass clippings, they started breaking down and reduced significantly in size overnight. We purchased the tumbler because our dog was getting in the compost pile, and it has indeed eliminated the stinky dog problem. A lot of reviews mention it is not easy to put together, and we found this to be true. Not impossible for one person to do, but it takes a long time. Ours was missing a few parts, as well, but replacement parts were shipped almost immediately upon request and we had them in-hand in less than a week. Overall, we like the product and Wayfair’s service has been great. If updating is allowed, I will try to revisit my review after a couple of seasons – I’m as anxious as anyone to see how it stands up over time.
