Description

StowAway® In-Wall Ironing Boards provide beauty and efficiency to make ironing easier. This easy-to-use board installs between the framing studs in your wall, so your ironing board stays out of sight but close at hand. Inside the cabinet are two shelves with all the space you need to tuck away all your ironing gear, from starch and spray bottles to your still-warm iron, thanks to the heat-resistant barrier on the deep upper shelf. But it is the ironing board that makes this StowAway® irresistible: it rotates a full 180°, so you can use every inch of the board easily and comfortably from either the right or left. With a simple lift, guide, and glide, you can also adjust the board’s height, providing an easy ironing experience for everyone in your home. This StowAway® In-Wall Ironing Board is the best-kept secret hidden in plain sight. It installs seamlessly in living rooms, kitchens, laundry rooms, and even in closets. The idea is, of course, that the attractive cabinet doesn’t look like it has an ironing board inside. This allows you to keep your ironing board accessible making ironing less daunting. Look for the light kit, sold separately, for even more convenience in one spot. See, too, the StowAway®’s replacement covers and pads. This StowAway® In-wall Ironing Board is the best-kept secret you’ll ever keep hidden in plain sight and just one of the many storage solutions Household Essentials® brings you to make every day brighter and more efficient.

Modification for stud placement. Theideal place for my wife’s craft room didn’t have studs 16” on center. I laid it out from a stud on the right hand side and cut the opening. Then, using a sawzall and oscillating saw, removed the middle stud. I added short 2×4 braces at the top and bottom between the middle stud and the next one over on the left side. I reused the stud I cut out of the middle, gluing and screwing it in place, and mounted the cabinet normally. It’s super solid and fits perfect. Couple suggestions: throw out the hinge screws provided and use store-bought ones (heads pop off), and use #8 x 2” screw WITH a small washer to mount the cabinet to the side studs (the sides are thin wood, this will hold much better). I was happy with the quality and design, and my wife loves it.

I love it and all would have been perfect, except I ran into some obstacles inside the wall that had to be moved so the unit would fit. It is still a little high, but not too high, and in a way that is good, it keeps the clothes off the floor, while I am ironing. A nice addition to my laundry room. Remember you will need a plug close by for your iron. Sorry about the pictures, but could not get them to rotatefor this review.

This little item is worth every penny! With the swivel board option it fits well even in a small space and it is SO convenient and easy to use! The cabinet adds to and matches very well to my existing cabinets in my laundry room.

Perfect for adding an ironing board to our master closet without taking up space. It fits discreetly behind our closet door. Easy to install, just watch the instruction video from Household Essentials.

Moved into our new home and desperately needed a new ironing board in the laundry room that didn’t take up a lot of space. It took my husband less than an hour to install and I am very happy with it.The ironing board is sturdy and easily folds up when not in use.The metal “plate” on the top shelf works great for protecting the cabinet from the heat of the iron when it is initially unplugged and ready for storage — don’t have to leave the iron out until it cools down. The exterior of the cabinet blends great with the trim in the room and doesn’t look like a “utility” cabinet.

Love my Stowaway ironing board. It was so much easier to install than I anticipated. My son had no trouble. I did buy a Sheetrock saw for about $5 to help with installation.

The instructions were easy to follow, I outlined all measurements, prepped the cabinet and the next day we finished the install. It was a nice tight fit, all pieces were used, which is always a good thing.Somehow I always end up with extra screws. The only hang up was that when I looked down the inside of the wall I noticed we had electrical running right through where my outline was.So we adjusted the cabinet and moved it a little higher to not interrupt the electric. Its higher that the instructions but it still works.Just beware of possible wires once you open the wall up.You will notice in the picture the original line was marked.

    Pros: Easy to assemble
