This chest is perfect!It is a beautiful dark chocolate brown – leather exterior with a soft felt interior to prevent scratches. Very well made – looks like it was built to endure.It holds a lot, without being bulky.I used it to store a 5 piece place setting for 12 (60 pieces total), plus 5 serving spoons, 3 buffet spoon (X-Large) sugar, gravy ladle, 3 serving tongs, 12 espresso spoons and 15 small spoons/forks/ tiny tongs for a cheese board.I was surprised that they all fit so neatly and securely.It also fit very neatly in a “standard” kitchen drawer.
Just be aware that the top is soft, which limits the ability to store items on top of this chest. I appreciate this feature as the soft top still closed over my one very large serving tong, which a hard lid would not have done.

This is a great product it is compact yet holds a large set of silverware. If you don’t have room for the cherry,walnut,oak chest this is the only answer to that need.
