This barn door is legit! We are in the process of remodeling our small bathroom and need a barn door to give more room for the entrance.

It didn’t take long to install it. The instructions are helpful and the diagrams are on point. I did encounter 1 board that was warped, but was able to place it strategically so that it wouldn’t warp the rest of the door. You will need a hammer or mallet to hammer the joints securely. I recommend using a “balanced method”, of securing the boards w/screws: When you fit all the boards together, I recommend using a Phillips screwdriver (by hand) to minimally secure one entire side (make sure the screw is flush with the wood). Then i would flip the other side and hammer/mallet the wood at the joints and where each piece meets/fits together and do the same (hand-screw the entire side until it is flush with the board). Then flip back to the other side and use a drill w/Phillips head bit to finish drilling all the screws down. Then repeat on the other side.

This prevents the boards from moving out of place or leaving gaps. You should be using your hammer/mallet to make sure each board stays in place as you secure with screws. This was my first time putting a door together and the results are beautiful.

For the price, I just don’t think this door can be beat. It’s high quality. So, if you are on the fence about getting it….get it.

True they aren’t put together……but these are nice solid doors and take no time to build. I did use a rubber mallet to hammer the frame a little and a cordless drill and long Phillips bit to attach the sides to the slats. I would definitely buy again.

This barn door is perfect! Our opening was wide at 48” and our ceilings low at 82”. I purchased the largest size – 52” x 80” We had to add a header board above our opening but that was structurally a fault of our house. The door was easy to assemble – it took myself and my husband about 2 hours. It took another 2 hours to hang it but again we had issues because of our older home. TIP WHEN ASSEMBLING-when it comes to tapping in the wood dowels-use the screwdriver as your guide as to how far down the screw head is! (Then you will be sure the dowel will fit in flush)
I stained the door a dark walnut and I had to purchase another handle and a latch for the inside of the door for the other side in the second room to use it. It should come with 2 handles but oh well.
I highly recommend this barn door and I plan to purchase more!
