So glad we spent the extra money for the curved back bench. In my opinion it makes a world of difference in comfort having the lower back support.
I read a lot of comments about screw holes not lining up – it did take some muscle to pull pieces together to make the screw holes align, but I think that just part of the design and making sure the junctions fit tightly together. Once I got pieces in the right position the screws went in perfectly.

I first selected another style bench after reading a couple of reviews that mentioned having trouble assembling the Nautical Garden Bench.When I changed my mind, a call to customer service was so helpful and the change was easily made.Sure enough, the assembly did require a little torque, but once we accepted that, we were delighted with the process.This bench has steel bars under the seat for reinforcement, and a steel bar tucked behind the back rest, so even our huskier family members will be well supported.It is heavy enough that even a strong wind won’t disturb placement.I am thrilled that the color actually matches a set of chairs we previously bought from a different (much more expensive) vendor.This was our first purchase from Wayfair, but it certainly won’t be the last.I don’t feel we had to settle for inferior quality, and the price was hundreds of dollars less than the comparable bench we saw at the local garden center.

I was in charge of finding benches to put in our local schools to serve as a memorial for an amazing woman.I wanted sturdy handsome benches that would stand the test of time and weather well.I chose black to match school colors/interiors.They are perfect! They basically look and feel like painted wood.My husband was able to assemble quickly and the benches are sturdy and stable.I had plaques made that attached easily and fit on the back top panel.I was so pleased!They have been in the schools for 2 years and still look brand new.

Very sturdy and substantial, assembles easily and everything fits together perfectly. Only one tool needed and it’s supplied with the hardware.30-45 minutes to assemble. The color I purchased (slate grey) is very nice and it matches other pieces in the same color. The Nautical version of this bench is much heavier and sturdier than the other two less expensive versions of the 4 ft bench but in my opinion it’s worth the money.

The bench is lovely…I am very pleased with it. It did not come unscathed! The arm rest for one of the bench ends came out of the box as it is shown in the picture. The slight damage is minor and I do NOT want to return the bench. I am bringing it to your attention so you can “caution” your delivery agent. Everything else is 5star I will definitely shopat Wayfair again….and recommend you to others….
