I ordered the unfinished version of this mantle and stained it myself. First, the product is easy to put together and easy to hang on the wall. I used a Sherwin Williams bistro walnut stain and semi-gloss poly for protection… it looks fantastic!

The mantel arrived just as ordered. It looks EXACTLY like the pictures. It’s light weight makes it easy to move around. We love the distressed look, the substantial size and appearance of weight.It is sturdy.
I am not very handy and I will say, I called my handyman friend to come help. But it is not difficult to install.

I ordered the cherry 60″ mantel and it is lovely.It is an open box beam mantel on the back with the French cleat design for simple hanging. This is not a solid beam, but looks like it!!Lightweight and easy to install.It has some rustic distressing that is easy on the eyes, not the rough kind of distressing.The cherry wood in not the super red type, so I really like the warm, brown cherry tone, perfect!Looks like I spent a lot more than I did.Hubby easily installed it.I say YES!

Love everything about this piece. I wanted to add something that was simple yet eye catching to my fireplace. I am so pleased with how it came out. It was incredibly easy to install. The little assemble that was required was so simple. Just keep in mind, mounting hardware is not included in the order.I decided on an unfinished mantle because I wasn’t sure if I wanted to stain or paint it. As you can see, I ended up staining it. I’ve already received so many complements.
