This mantel was easy to install and attaches firmly.I was happy with the quality and look.I was fortunate enough to have a header board running across the top of the fireplace opening behind the plaster. Every screw I screwed in was into solid wood.It’s a substantial piece so I’d have been nervous about attaching it to drywall if a few studs can’t be located.The attaching rods slope downward, so before fully attaching the bracket fully, I recommend making sure the mantel can slide up those tubes and get snug with the wall without hitting anything below like the top of the fireplace facing.

The mantel itself is lovely. But there were no instructions and no hardware included. I assume this is an error… Would be 5 stars if it came with the needed pieces to put it up.
Update: Wayfair fixed the issue quickly and I LOVE this mantel. It’s perfect for my modern-ish fireplace. Wood is beautiful. Stain is great. Just the right thickness and height.

It was missing the hardware when we got it so we had to wait for them to resend that.But the mantel is great other than the pre-drilled holes on the bracket did not match up to our studs so we had to drill all new holes.
