Well built and easy to install. It replace the pathetically weak sounding door chime that was installed in my newly built home. Nice clear and loud sound for my rather rather large ranch home. The picture does injustice as this cannot be mounted horizontally – only vertically. Plenty of space is available behind the cover for installation of a Ring Doorbell receiver unit.

ONLY HANGS VERTICALLY. I missed that piece from other people’s reviews, looks great, but in case that info is helpful to others. The black one shows fingerprints and they don’t come off with cleaning, so either: wear gloves when touching it, or lightly oil the front and wipe it off really well to make the fingerprints disappear.
