It is made from zBoard recycled paperboard which is eco-friendly and free from harmful chemicals, making it safe for use in your home. It does not require tools for assembly, just peel the adhesive strips, stick them, and you’re done!

If you look at this product and say, “I could build something like this for less money,” and you actually could do it, you might as well go ahead.
For a product made from recycled paper products, it’s actually really good. However, don’t expect these to hold up to years of roughness and moves, as they aren’t that durable. What they aren’t though is:
1. A fiberboard/particleboard piece masquerading as made of wood
2. A CD rack with a piece of cardboard nailed to the back
I bought five of these and came up with what looks like a decent CD shelf, but I don’t expect these to last forever. Be sure to read the sheet that comes with it, which states you shouldn’t use these in humid environments like bathrooms. I would think other humid spaces wouldn’t be great for these over time either.
Overall I’m happy with the purchase because these (I think) are made in the USA from recycled materials, but also that the company tells you exactly how they’re made and how they are put together: with dowels and 3m tape. And yes, they hold together fine.
They are also stackable as the description states, and come with dowels for stacking. If you don’t want to stack them, you will have open holes on the top
