The 3-way light gives ambient to reading lighting. The cord is concealed internally down one of the legs. It more than rivals more expensive lamps. Great light, great price, delivered ahead of schedule, easy to assemble…totally pleased!

Be sure to get a 3-way light bulb in order to enjoy the full capabilities of the lamp. For reference, I got a 30w/70w/100w bulb and only ever use the 2 lower settings.
