Tiffany 70″ Torchiere Floor Lamp

Stained glass is handcrafted using the same technique that was developed by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the early 1900s. Glass types and colors are designed using metallic salts during manufacturing. Each piece of real glass is hand-cut and copper foil is wrapped around each individual piece. The glass pieces are then welded by hand to create one-of-a-kind designs. As part of the finishing process, oil is added to the outside of the design to protect the metal from erosion. The beauty of stained glass is its versatility when illuminated by light. Stained glass will become more vibrant when lit.
