This dish rack is uniquely designed with an exterior utensil rack and one open side to provide more drying space for dishes and to accommodate larger, longer items. The wireframe body is made of rust-resistant, stainless steel with a soft-touch coating that prevents scratches and chips on dinnerware and enamel cookware, and features slots to keep items in place while drying, including an extra-wide slot for a frying pan or cutting board. The plastic flatware caddy has 3 compartments for organizing and separating flatware from cooking utensils and is detachable so it can be carried directly to a drawer when it is time to put flatware away. An angled drainboard underneath the unit directs water into the sink so it never pools up, and the soft feet keep the dish rack from damaging countertops and prevent it from moving while loading and unloading. Durable, high-quality stainless steel side panels give the dish rack a premium design element and add an upscale look to any kitchen.

Best drain board I ever had. I like that the bottom tray will slide in place either from the long side or the short side so that you can choose the way you want to us it by your sink. I like that it looks like stainless but is actually coated with a rubber or plastic. coating. I previously had stainless and broke some items when they hit the metal. Not going to happen with this dish each. Highly recommended.

I love love love this Dish Rack by KitchenAid. Our Son got his Very First home at 19! This is the First item I ordered for his kitchen! It is the talk of the home, a conversation starter at best! For a young man it is masculine looking yet I will order the exact same one for my daughters apartment (jealousy, LOL) and it’ll look feminine surrounded by no less decorations than my son has.

I am pretty fussy about kitchen dish rack and other storage items.
I have been looking for a while to replace my simple human, which i had bought the same one a second time after the first became very worn looking.
The second started to look the same as the first at the end, and i really thought for the money it should have lasted more than 2 years.
This kitchen aid, i love the way it is designed.you get a lot more space in depth, and the wide open side that faces the sink i think is great.Much easier to put odd size items in.
It also has a much wider drain that goes to the sink.My last one had a little piece that wouldn’t stay in.
It has a great look as well.
I’ll let you know in 2 years if i feel the same way.
